General terms and conditions of ticket sales for the Château de Villandry
The present terms and conditions of sale shall apply as of right and with no restriction whatsoever to all purchases made on the www.chateauvillandry.fr website of the private establishment of the French property company SCI du Château de Villandry, with headquarters at 3 rue Principale, 37510 Villandry. They are subject to amendment without prior notice. By purchasing admission tickets to the Château de Villandry, the customer hereby agrees without any reservations whatsoever to adhere to the present terms and conditions of sale.
These terms and conditions shall apply with the exclusion of any other terms and conditions, in particular those applicable to on the spot sales or through partner sales networks.
Article 1 – Price and number of admission tickets
1.1 The prices of admission tickets shall be specified in euros net of taxes.
1.2 At the moment, only full- and youth-fare single tickets shall be on sale on the Château de Villandry website.
1.3 Visitors eligible for a reduced fare or free admission may be required to present an identification card and the related supporting documents.
1.4 Within the framework established by Decree No. 2004-836 of 20 August 2004 adopted pursuant to Article 1341 of the French Civil Code, the Château de Villandry has opted to cap the amount of each order. To this effect, the total number of tickets that can be purchased per person shall not exceed 15, regardless of the price per ticket.
1.5 All orders shall be payable in euros regardless of their origin.
1.6 The prices applicable shall be those in force on the date of the order placement, although the Château de Villandry reserves the right to adjust said prices without prior notice. The services shall be billed based on the prices in force at the time of registration of the orders.
1.7 Tickets purchased online shall not provide the right to bypass admission lines.
Article 2 – Availability
The Château de Villandry offers a predetermined number of tickets for sale on its website. It reserves the right to increase or reduce the number of tickets offered for sale.
A ticket is sold for a specific period, from 1 April to 31 October of a given year.
“Order summary” allows you to ensure that the placed order meets your expectations. As long as payment has not been registered, you have the possibility to adjust the contents of your order on the previous page.
For any cancellation requests after validating a transaction, please consult Article 9 hereinafter.

·Contents of the offer associated with the ticket. Characteristics of the offers associated with each ticket sold are subject to amendment. To this effect, the texts describing the offer associated with the tickets are not binding.

Article 4 – Payment
4.1 Payment by credit or debit cards allows you to purchase your tickets online in a definitive manner. The cards from the following networks are allowed for payment for an order:
·Carte Bleue / Visa / MasterCard
·E-Carte Bleue
4.2 The Château de Villandry shall have the obligation of establishing two copies of the transaction documentation, comprising:
·The date, time and amount of the transaction
A copy will be sent to you by email.
The second copy shall be conserved for a one-year period by the Château de Villandry.
Article 5 – Security of payments and personal data
5.1 Security of payments
The Château de Villandry website is equipped with a security system.
The Château de Villandry has adopted the PayZen System secure payment solution, which uses SSL encryption procedure. The bank account information of the customer is therefore protected, as only the payment authorisation codes issued by the banks are retained.
The Château de Villandry warrants that the cryptology means and services employed to secure transactions have been granted due authorisation or have been notified in accordance with the legislation in force.
5.2 Personal data
Your information and data shall be required to manage your order and your relations with the Château de Villandry. It shall be stored in the Château de Villandry database. The data is conserved in your personal account by the Château de Villandry: The data is used to ensure proper processing of your transaction. Furthermore, the data, once recorded, allows you to make faster transactions in the future.
The data enables us to contact you if necessary and where possible in the event of cancellation or modification of the date of the service for which you have purchased the tickets, as set out in Article 9.1 hereinafter.
Pursuant to the law on “Information technology and Freedoms” of 6 January 1978, you are entitled to access, rectify and delete your personal data, which can be exercised by contacting the Customer Service (whose contact information is provided in Article 10 hereinafter) by indicating your first and last names, address and, if possible, your customer reference number. Your letter should be signed and accompanied by a copy of an identification document bearing your signature. A reply shall then be sent to you within 2 months upon receipt of your request.
The automated processing of customer personal data and particularly the management of customer emails has been notified to the CNIL (French Personal Data Authorities) by the Château de Villandry.
5.3 Cookies
The Château de Villandry uses cookies to ensure its customers receive the best quality service:
·Cookies from a session, which are necessary for operating a commercial website, are used to manage your shopping cart and to display offers specially designed for you. They are destroyed once you leave the website.
·“Disk” cookies gather information anonymously to serve for statistics purposes (number of visits, etc.).
Article 6 – Validation
You hereby confirm that you have read and understood the present general terms and conditions before placing your order. By validating your order you hereby consent to these general terms and conditions of sale.
Except in the event of evidence to the contrary, the recorded data constitutes evidence of all transactions made between the Château de Villandry and its customers.
Article 7 – Order confirmation
Your order shall be deemed definitively confirmed and be binding for the Château de Villandry only upon receipt of the email sent by the contact centre confirming that the order has been effectively validated.
Consequently, we hereby advise you to check your email or letter service.
Additionally, archiving of orders and payment documentation is carried out on a reliable and irreversible medium in order to constitute a reliable and lasting copy, in compliance with Article 1348 of the French Civil Code.
Article 8 – Acquisition of tickets
8.1 – The ticket acquisition method is as described hereinafter:
Step 1: Select the number of tickets desired.
Step 2: Log in and register on the website.
Step 3: Verify your shopping cart and agree to the general terms and conditions of sale.
Step 4: Make the payment by typing in your credit or debit card number on the PayZen page.
Step 5: Receive the order confirmation notice.
8.2 – For any payment, the debiting shall be carried out once the order has been validated on the Château de Villandry website. Debiting of the credit or debit card is carried out independent of printing the tickets.
8.3 – Proof of payment shall be sent to the email address you will have entered during the ordering process.
Article 9 – Cancellation and reimbursement
9.1 – A ticket shall not be reimbursed, returned or changed except in the event that the relevant service is cancelled by the Château de Villandry.
9.2 – Upon announcement of the cancellation or change of date of a service for which you have purchased tickets, and for which the Château de Villandry is accountable, you hereby provide consent to our Customer Service to use the contact information you entered when placing the order to inform you, where possible, about the course of action to take.
9.3 – Any claims, of any nature whatsoever, must be made in writing to the Customer Service (whose contact information is indicated in Article 10 hereinafter), by the date of the visit at the latest.

Article 11 – Responsibility
You should verify the ticket(s) and the online order confirmation at the time they are delivered or received in your email inbox.
The Château de Villandry shall not be held liable for failure to perform due to force majeure, circumstances beyond its control, particularly including disruption of transportation facilities, strikes, exceptionally adverse weather conditions, fire, etc.
Lastly, you alone shall be accountable for the use by yourself or by a third party of the tickets sold.
Article 12 – Applicable law – Disputes
The sale of tickets mentioned in the present General Terms and Conditions of Sale shall be governed by French law. In the event of any disputes, the Tours courts shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
